Diggler Racing Developments?

That's right, driver Dirk Diggler the pornstar from Boogie Nights. No, not really, but you get the looks ;-)

Aaron has owned this car for just over 2 years, one of which it has been off the road due to an incident on the dragstrip, and lack of finances to get it repaired. However, it is well on the road to recovery now, and should be going again shortly.

Modifications:

Engine:
  • 2" mandrel bent exhaust straight off the turbo with just one small straight-through Lukie muffler.
  • 3/4" waste-gate dump pipe venting to atmos under engine block. (turbo has internal waste-gate so this and the exhaust both fit via a custom manifold)
  • K&N air-filter right on turbo. This also gives cold air induction by way of it being right behind the front grille, and the grille having been removed. Necessitates a number of air-lines being redirected because factory airbox is also removed since it is no longer needed. I have fitted an after-market breather-tank and plumbed these lines into it (see pictures of engine).
  • Heavy duty 3-paddle kevlar/ceramic clutch plate and heavy duty pressure plate.
  • Lightened flywheel - I had the standard flywheel lightened and balanced when the clutch was being installed.
  • Engine runs a fully synthetic Valvoline oil at the moment. Although I have run Mobil 1 in the past, switched because it's too expensive, and there are cheaper oils of the same quality available.

Interior:

  • Sports steering wheel (fake Momo - I got ripped off here.. paid the same as what a 2nd hand genuine item would have cost... grrrr).
  • Chopped gearshifter with leather knob.
  • Autometer boost guage with custom polished bracket (thanks Campbell) - see pics.
  • 3 x 3' red neon tubes. One along each doorsill activated by the door switches, and one functioning as a high brake light mounted on the parcel tray (no longer have this curtesey some @#$%@#% theieves) - these look insane at night =)

Exterior:

  • Lowered the profile of the headlights with a layer of black vinyl (to block light) with white vinyl on top - see pics.
  • Removed front number plate, put lettering on front skirt - must be legal, it got a WOF at a testing station.
  • Lowered with Sabre springs. Unsure of exactly how much lower it is - doesn't look much until you put it beside a standard one. Adjustable konis in the front, back will get the same when they need replacing.
  • Polished standard 14" Speedline rims - I did it myself and am consdering paying someone to do it properly because they're not exactly shiny like I hoped.
  • Towbar -came with the car but has been useful.
  • "Diggler Racing" glare strip - this is slightly bigger than the law allows, but again, I got the WOF at a testing station so it must be ok.
