| (pics will follow shortly) Adam (CXTdreamer) has recently bought a white 1985 G11R, and is loving it. It just feels so much faster than my Triumph, and that has twice as many cylinders and two and a half times the capacity!! The car was bought with a shagged turbo, which has since been re-conditioned, after dropping it's guts the day after Adam bought the car. Even though the turbo was on it's way out, it must have been boosting alright the day he bought the car, as Adam swears that the car was spinning it's wheels through first and second that night!. Maybe that's why it failed the next day. When purchased, the car had an excellent interior, straight body (albeit with oxidised paint which has since polished up well), standard wheels, air conditioning (necessary in Adelaide!!!), turbo timer and a sports exhaust, and appeared to be quite an original and honest buy. The engine was smoky, but as it was bought for significantly less than most G11R's and CXT's in good condition sell for in Adelaide this was to be expected, especially with such a good interior and body. There is a lot planned for this car, with a stripped interior and suspension, brake and engine mods planned, as well as a possible swap to some decent alloy wheels if the sleeper look becomes too boring... |
