Quick as a Civic?
Brent was a little worried about submitting his car. After all, the list of performance modifications can be counted on one hand. But as our long time reader will testify, weíll accept just about anything. Weíll let Brent tell his storyÖ
"The story behind my car is that I bought it new in July 1997. I was cashed up for a new car, and spent weeks deciding what colour my new Civic would be. I was ready to sign for it ( they are a sweet car), when a dad of a friend of mine suggested I look at a Hyundai or Charade, and pocket the cash difference.

I was set on the Civic, but thought I would go and see the Charades at least (Hyundai's are just too common). (And too damned ugly, Jason ñ Plus crappy inside, Nick ) At this stage I needed a car in 4 days (the company wanted their Falcon back), so my mind was not going to be easily changed. I went to Stillwell's at Medindie, and they had the car you see now in the showroom. Well, I hadn't ever taken much interest in "hot" charades before, but this looked great. I took it for a spin at it handled better that the Civic, but not as quick. (A few mods will fix that, after I embarrassed a Civic VTi, I can testify to that, Jason)

The colour was a big decision. It's a love it or hate it colour, and even after I had bought the car, I still wasn't sure if I liked it, but it soon grew on me, and of all the colours in the range, I still think it looks the best (biased obviously). There were 3 reasons I got the car in this colour. 1. I needed it quick, and it was already built. 2. The interior colour matches the exterior 3. It is unique.

The car has been lowered, how much I don't know, but its low enough. Only problem is the front sits about 5mm to high. Just enough to notice if you know you're looking for it. A nice chrome tip sits out the back, but only the muffler and tip have been changed. This give bugger all hp increase, but it looks the goods, and sounds cool. The bodykit is ASV, and is noticable and makes the car look "aggresive" but isn't loud and chunky. I really wanted to avoid the racecar look with a front spoiler, so I never bothered. I wanted to do the same as Dean and Tash with the front, but never have (no time!).

The alloys are 15" Auscar Racelace. I originally had 15" Visions on there but got a bit tired of the look, not that there is anything wrong with them. I was tempted to change to 16", but I wear the tyres out quick enough with the km I travel, it would be an expensive change. Only other mod is tinted glass. Apart from the above it is 100% stock. Now I know it will not set any 1/4 mile records, but I'm more into good, clean looks."

We think Brentís car passes the test, and he has absolutley no need to feel anxious about submitting the car.

It looks trick, clean and nasty.
