One in a million...Dane's convert

I don't know about you guys, but this car blew me away when I first saw it...then the double whammy hit, a dyno graph with a really decent peak!

This is just a snippet, so enjoy the pics, the specs are on the way!

Dane's GTti also boasts some tasty new brakes...

Dane sends his praises to Ross McKenzie from Rospen Motorsport who sorted him out. Basically, the braking system has been uprated to 280mm cross drilled vented discs, AP racing 4 pot calipers with dust seals. These include BTTC racing pads (soft compound) by Ferrodo, not available in the shops, you have to ask for the under counter stuff from Ferrodo. Dane's new setup also includes adjustable brake bias front and rear. (Claim to fame - the bloke that did the aluminium welding for me on the brake bios works for the Jaguar F1 team! So Dane has a little piece of F1 on the car!) As you can imagine braking is very good, so far his bottle cannot match the braking ability of the car.

Dane comments "I am braking later and later but now I have started coming out of my seat towards the window and need buckets and harnesses. Its hard to keep pressing the brake pedal when you arn't in your seat anymore! I have lost an M3 on braking, this gave me a gap of about 70yards in which to zip away out of sight - very enjoyable. Plus the braking is very smooth now, I can continue to brake whilst driving through a corner or brake mid corner without it upsetting the car's balance much. Plus when you release there is no lurch anymore you just continue at the speed you braked down to. The amount of pedal pressure required is minimal, plus you can feel exactly what the brakes are doing all the time. They are sharp all the time and the more you use them the better they get. You can stop the car on the nose every time and without skidding, you can control the skidding because the pedal pressure is so light, you just lift off a tiny bit. I have got as much enjoyment out of these brakes so far as any of my engine mods (which are extensive!!! Ed.). I was amazed to find this. Out braking someone is just as much fun as burning them off. Plus this mod helps the safety aspect so I recommend it. I think I am the first to put an AP 280mm disk package onto a G100. Ross has done it on a G200 but not a G100, the G200 was Brembo's as well. So if you need help now, go and see Ross and he can sort you out on your G100."
