And this is how it looks today... a few happy-snaps taken 07/10/2000 - almost a year after I imported
the car from Japan.
Since then I managed to get an original DeTomaso bonnet, have fitted accessories such as
the lights, harnesses and TerraTrip and, recently, upgraded springs lowered about 30mm and a set
of Falken Azenis 195/60/14s. I have also constructed a new air intake with 70mm ducting from the
throttle body over to a K&N-type filter mounted behind the LHS headlamp. The battery was moved to
the rear to make space for this. I have also fitted a 2.25" exhaust (sans cat) straight through to
an MRT rear muffler.
There is absolutely no intention to go for bigger rims at any time
in the future. I had 16x7's on the G200 and they looked great... but that's all they did for the car!
As it is, the car is just great for road rallies (touring events with special stages)
and the odd track day. That's what I'll keep doing with it for now.
I have to say that Fulcrum Suspension
have done a fantastic job setting the car up for track work and would reccommend them to any Charade
owners who want to tweak some handling out of their car. Darren (from Fulcrum) owns a G200 Charade and has
tried and tested many settings on his own car.
